The Real Bottom Line Is Us The People.

Not the enterprise account.

Not the institutional license.

Not the venture fund that wrote the check.

Us.

The people who picked up this technology when nobody was sure what it was. The people who sat at a kitchen table, or a home office, or a back bedroom and started asking questions. The people who figured it out one session at a time, without a technical team, without a budget, without anyone holding their hand.

We are the ones who proved this thing works.

And now they are pricing us out.

I want to be plain about what happened to me this morning. I opened a session with one of the most advanced AI models available. I was doing serious work. Governance work. Framework work. The kind of work that takes deep reasoning and time to get right. And before the morning was half over, my credits were gone. The session was done. The tool went quiet.

That is not an accident.

The free tier gets shorter windows and thinner capability every time they update the pricing model. The paid tiers get squeezed harder every quarter. The credits that used to last a week now last a day. And the enterprise accounts — the big institutional buyers, the corporations, the government contracts — they get the full capability, the deep reasoning, the priority access.

They get the good version.

We get what’s left.

We did the proving work.

Without us there is no market. Without us there is no trust. Without us the enterprise client has nothing to buy into because nobody demonstrated it was worth buying.

The people at the base of this technology are not a charity case. We are the foundation. And right now the foundation is being asked to pay more for less while the people at the top of the revenue stack get more for more.

That is not a business model built to last.

Here is what I know from building the Faust Baseline over the last fourteen months. The most important interaction in this entire technology landscape is the one that happens between one human being and one AI tool. Not in a boardroom. Not in a data center. Not in a regulatory hearing. In a home. At a desk. In a quiet moment when a person decides they want to think more clearly, work more honestly, and hold the tool they are using to a real standard.

That is where governance actually lives.

That is why the Baseline was built at the interaction layer. Not at the platform layer. Not at the regulatory layer. Right at the place where the individual human meets the machine. Because that is the only place where real accountability can happen. The platform will not govern itself. The regulator is three years behind. The enterprise client governs for liability, not for the person.

The person has to govern for themselves.

I said this morning in a conversation that the most important power in any society or enterprise is the people as a whole. Not the high-income accounts. Not the money changers. The people. Without the people there is no income. Without the people there is no platform. Without the people this technology has no future worth having.

That is not a political statement. That is a plain fact about how power works and always has worked.

It is built on consistency and not flawlessness because real people living real lives need something they can actually hold to, not a standard designed to make them feel like they are always failing.

The credit wall I hit this morning reminded me of something important. The pressure being put on individual users right now is real. It is structural. And it is going to get harder before it gets easier.

But the answer is not to give up the serious work. The answer is to do the serious work smarter, hold the standard tighter, and make the case louder that the people at the base of this technology are not a secondary market.

We are the market.

We always were and always will be in all things that need a consumer to support their existence in the human ethos.
