To everyone who has been reading along, I owe you a straight word.

After a couple more posts like this one, we will stop posting on Facebook. This is not a goodbye. It is a change of address.

I want to tell you why. And I want to tell you where to find us. You deserve both.

Let me start with the why. Facebook gives big numbers. Every month the dashboard shows hundreds of views. On paper it looks like a crowd. But a crowd walking past the door is not a room full of people.

The numbers tell the story. Most folks who come from Facebook stay a few seconds and leave. Almost none of them come back. They look, and they keep scrolling. That is how the place is built. It is built for the scroll, not the stay.

Meanwhile, the people who stand with this work are somewhere else. They read on Substack. They talk on Bluesky. They come straight to our own website. They read it through. They come back. Some of them talk back. That is support, and support is what matters.

There is another reason, and I won’t dress it up. Facebook pries into every corner of a person’s life. It watches what you read, who you know, and what you buy. Everything I write comes back to one idea. You should be in control of the tools you use, not the other way around. I can’t keep saying that while I lean on a place that does the opposite.

So I made a choice. Better a smaller room where people stay than a big hallway where everybody passes through.

Now the where. Write these down, or save this post.

Our home is the website. Everything lands there first. Every post, the whole archive, all of it. If you only remember one address, make it this one.

Substack is the second door. Sign up there and the posts come right to your email. No algorithm deciding whether you see it. No feed burying it under ads. It just shows up.

Bluesky is the third door. That is where the conversation happens. If you want to talk back, push back, or just say you read it, that is the place. It is quieter than Facebook. The people there tend to read before they reply.

That is it. Three doors, and all of them are open.

I know some of you only see us on Facebook. I know changing habits is a nuisance. Nobody likes being asked to move. So here is the ask. Take one minute. Pick one of those three doors. Bookmark it, follow it, or sign up. Then you will never lose track of us, no matter what any platform decides to do.

Platforms change the rules whenever they please. They can bury your posts, cut your reach, or close a door overnight with no reason given. When you live in somebody else’s house, you live by their rules. A website is ours. A mailing list is yours. Nobody can switch those off.

This is going to be very long test. We are going to see if we can fly without them. The numbers will probably drop at first. That’s all right. I would rather have fifty people who stay than five hundred who leave in eight seconds.

If you’ve been with us a while, thank you. You are the reason any of this is worth doing. If you just found us, welcome. You came in at a good time.

We will keep writing. We will keep asking the hard questions. We will keep putting the tools back in your hands, where they belong. We are just doing it somewhere a little quieter now.

So come find us. The door is open. The coffee is on. And there is always a seat at the table for you.

See you on the other side.
