Intelligent People Assume Nothing
This is not just an introduction — it’s the bridge between two eras. It was the title of our original Substack site, where this voice first took shape. What you’ll read here is the story behind the phrase that guided it: ‘Intelligent People Assume Nothing.’ That phrase became the compass, and now this site is the trail it pointed toward. If you understand this page, you’ll understand the heart of everything that follows.”

You might wonder why I chose the phrase at the top of this page.
It came to me during a graveyard shift—one of those long hauls from 3 PM to 7 AM. I was operating a massive overhead crane, feeding hoppers for the ball mills. It was precision work. Tedious. Demanding. And being on that shift made it even harder.
But it gave me time to think.
At the time, I was trying to move up to a foreman position. I wanted it bad—but I kept getting pushback from the top dog. He was young, smug, and looked down on the hourly crew like we were beneath him.
It lit a fire in me. And during one of those nights, this quote just landed in my head:
“Smart people assume they are intelligent…
But intelligent people assume nothing.”
It stuck with me ever since.
This entire website is built on that principle.
When you assume, you open the door to disappointment.
But if you stay alert—if you question, prepare, and stay open—
You give yourself a real shot at understanding, achievement, and truth.
“Truth by Hand, Not Algorithm.”
