The Faust Baseline™Purchasing Page – Intelligent People Assume Nothing
micvicfaust@intelligent-people.org
There comes a point where explanation stops adding value.
Not because the ideas are wrong.
Not because the ground is shaky.
But because the work that needed doing has already been done.
Over the past stretch of writing, a few things have been laid out plainly and without decoration.
That standards are not control — they are orientation.
That posture comes before intelligence.
That speed without discipline doesn’t break loudly anymore — it erodes quietly, under load.
And that AI systems don’t fail because they lack capability, but because they lack restraint.
The Baseline was introduced into that space for a specific reason.
Not to impress.
Not to persuade.
Not to compete with tools that optimize for flash or scale.
It exists to correct drift before it becomes invisible.
That idea doesn’t require belief.
It only requires reading it straight.
Which brings us to the part that usually gets avoided.
This work is not an argument to win.
It isn’t a movement.
It isn’t a funnel disguised as philosophy.
It’s a line.
If you’ve read through this material and felt a sense of relief — not excitement, not fear, not urgency — just relief — then you already understand what it’s for.
Relief usually means something finally slowed down enough to make sense again.
If, on the other hand, you felt irritation, resistance, or boredom, that matters too. That reaction isn’t a failure. It’s information.
Some people don’t want their thinking slowed.
Some don’t want their language tightened.
Some don’t want a system that refuses to guess, flatter, or rush to conclusions.
That’s fine.
The Baseline was never meant to be universal.
It was meant to be dependable.
Dependability doesn’t chase attention.
It holds its shape and lets people decide whether to step closer or step away.
Nothing here requires urgency.
Nothing here benefits from hype.
Nothing improves by being pushed harder.
The structure has been shown.
The posture has been demonstrated.
The limits have been made visible.
At this point, continuing to explain would only dilute what’s already clear.
There are only two honest next steps for a reader.
One is to lean in — slowly — and use the material as intended: as a grounding reference, a discipline, a way to check your own thinking before you outsource it.
The other is to close the tab and move on.
Both are correct.
No one is being recruited.
No one is being cornered.
No one is being judged for walking away.
The Baseline doesn’t need defenders.
It doesn’t need constant updates to stay relevant.
And it doesn’t need permission to exist.
It simply stays where it is.
Open.
Defined.
Unrushed.
If you’re still here because something in this work helped you regain footing — even a little — then the loop has already closed.
If you’re still here waiting for a pitch, a reveal, or a dramatic turn, you won’t find one.
This is not a crescendo.
It’s a settling.
The door remains open.
The boundaries are clear.
The posture is set.
Nothing else needs to be said.
That’s the loop.
