The IRS runs on confusion.
The Faust Baseline runs on clarity.
Put those two in the same room and only one survives.

For a hundred years the IRS has kept its strength through fog—grey language, loopholes only insiders understand, notices that land in your mailbox like threats written in riddles. You don’t need to break a law to feel like you’ve already done something wrong. That’s the design.

Fear is the enforcement mechanism.
Ambiguity is the tool.
Interpretation is the weapon.

A normal person can’t navigate it. That’s the point.
If you want safety, you pay someone else to read the map.

Then comes The Faust Baseline.

Where the IRS uses paragraph walls and interpretive gymnastics, the Baseline uses the opposite:

– Plain meaning
– Direct structure
– One interpretation, not twenty
– No scare tactics
– No insider language
– No “trapdoors” hidden in a sentence

The IRS survives by twisting words.
The Baseline survives by repairing them.

And when a system built on fear meets a system built on truth, the old machinery starts to squeal.

Because here’s the truth nobody in Washington admits:
the IRS depends on people not understanding the rules.
If every citizen actually knew what half the letters meant, the entire enforcement model would change overnight.

That’s why the Baseline is dangerous—not politically, but mechanically.
It removes the fog they rely on.
It forces one meaning.
It removes the wiggle room.
It holds the writer to their words.

Imagine the IRS without fear.
Imagine compliance without confusion.
Imagine letters written so clearly a high-school kid could understand them.

Put the IRS and the Baseline in the same mainframe, and you don’t get a revolution.
You get something far more disruptive:

A country where people finally understand what’s being done to them.

With a little respect this time around
